August Events in St. Louis
If you have not gotten the chance to do as many things as you wanted to this summer, do not worry! There are still many exciting August events near you that will fill the end of your summer with fun. Below are just a few events from Explore St. Louis’ calendar of events.
Garden of Glass at Missouri Botanical Garden: The botanical garden is hosting floral glass artist Craig Mitchell Smith this summer. Smith is known for his custom kiln fired technique and style, and the exhibit will feature many pieces of his work through the beautiful features of the garden.
The Discovery of King Tut at the Saint Louis Science Center: The Discovery of King Tut is a presentation of the treasures discovered in Tutankhamun’s tomb, one of the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century. This is the first time the exhibit will be displayed in North America.
Blues at the Arch: Throughout the month of August, the CityArchRiver Foundation and National Blues Museum are hosting a free concert series in the newly renovated section of the Gateway Arch park grounds. The lineup includes Big George Brock and Lil’ Ray Neal, the Green McDonough Band and more.
Downtown St. Louis Architectural Walking Tours: Immerse yourself in St. Louis’ fascinating history while working on your wellness. You may even learn some new things about places near you!
St. Lou Fringe Festival: This festival is a seven day event involving thousands of people and many different venues throughout St. Louis. The concept of the festival is to feature an array of original material meant to celebrate all of the arts.
