September Pet of the Month
Every month, The Residences at Forest Park Hotel honors one resident’s pet with the Pet of the Month title. Residents submit their pets to be chosen and create biographies about their pets to share with their neighbors.
September’s Pet of the Month award was given to Helmut, residents Sven and Arielle’s dog.
Hi there! My name is Helmut Strudel of Pineshire Estates, but I just go by Helmut. I was born on a deer farm in Illinois only about five months ago, along with my seven brothers and sisters. One day, my humans came and met me on the farm; I charmed them with my clumsy play and soulful eyes. A few weeks later, they came and picked me up to keep forever!
Since moving to The Residences at Forest Park Hotel, I have made a lot of new friends, both of the human and puppy varieties. I love hanging out in the dog park and cultivating my interests, such as puppy playing, mulch eating, flower picking and bird watching. For some reason, whenever I go to pick flowers for my parents in the garden, they always chase me out and take me away before I can present them with a full bouquet. Although it may seem like it, not all of my hobbies are outdoor activities. It turns out you can still chase tennis balls indoors. Plus, inside, there are these white rolls of paper at about my eye level in the place where I get baths. I like to pull on them and run all over the place! Once I have tired myself out with playing and bird watching, I love nothing more than a snack of cheese or peanut butter and a good snooze. Oh, and by the way, I love meeting new people. Do not be fooled if I bark at you or your furry friend initially; sometimes I just get excited. Although my burgeoning beard and emphatic eyebrows lend me a grumpy look akin to an old man with too many youths on his lawn (the typical look of a Schnauzer like myself), I am always quite cheerful. Feel free to greet me with pats or a smile and send my stubby tail wagging whenever you see me around!
